Our Experienced Staff

Shirley Wong

 Center Program Manager

Shirley is a member of the administration team. She is EEC certified to teach infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Roger William University.  Shirley previously worked as an IT professional for over twenty years but left to pursue her dreams of working with school children. She taught a Cantonese language class at Newton Cantonese School part-time while working as an IT professional before joining WoodsEdge.  Currently, she is working hard to include exposure to foreign languages into the preschool program because she has seen the benefits it has brought her multi-lingual children.  Research shows that learning a second language boosts problem-solving, critical-thinking, and listening skills. In her free time, she loves baking (cake especially!),  hiking and spending time with her family.

Natasha Allen

Center Director

Natasha has over ten years of experience in the childcare industry.  She has worked in various centers, from very small privately owned through larger corporate-owned centers and the in-between.  Throughout her time in childcare, she has worked in many positions from the assistant teacher through Administration and finding a home as a director.  As a director of a childcare center for over five years, her main objective is to provide high-quality care for the children in our care, build partnerships with the families to best provide support for not only their children, but also the family as a whole, and to provide support and knowledge to the staff.  Working with children is rewarding in itself as you get to be apart of their discovery of the world and being able to provide support to staff and families makes this field that much more rewarding.   Please feel free to contact Natasha at anytime.

Beth Fisher

Toddler Teacher

Beth graduated from Salem State 13 years ago, she began her education experience working with toddlers for over two years where she moved onto working with children from preschool thru sixth grade. While working in the public schools, her time was spent working with children diagnosed with autism, behavioral, social and emotional issues and also working in inner – city, impoverished schools.

One of her favorite activities to do with children is anything involving building – from mud pies, to Lego structures to drawing houses. Watching children create and build from start to finish is something she find inspiring and fun to watch the process. The pride and excitement that a child takes in what they’ve accomplished makes her incredibly happy. Working with children brings many enjoyable aspects. The pure happiness they show and bring is refreshing. Their natural curiosity and the longing for wanting to know more brings fulfilment and excitement every day. It is something she look forward to each and every day since everyday is different, bringing new curiosity and happy moments. Beth has always believed that children should be seen, heard , feel protected and respected. With this, she is hoping to become a child advocate sometime in the future.

Nico Smith

Nico enjoys creating as often as possible and really enjoys when the children are equally excited about the art projects the classroom has to offer.
