Thanksgiving Food Drive
This year WoodsEdge Children's Center is excited announce the first annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. We will be accepting donations until Friday Nov. 20nd and will be sorting the donations on Saturday Nov. 21st. The drive is open to all members of the community and all food will be donated to Sudbury Community Food Pantry.
The Sudbury Community Food Pantry was started in March of 1990. It is staffed by a group of 97 dedicated volunteers, and assists approximately 65-75 families each week. This number increases to 90-100 during the holiday months of November and December. Food Pantry clients receive food without prerequisites such as needs tests, letters of referral or residency requirement. Their sole purpose is to help any family or individual in need and no one has ever been turned away from the Food Pantry.
The Sudbury Community Food Pantry supplies the Sudbury Town Social Worker, the school social worker and town nurse with the
food they need to assist anyone in need. The Sudbury Visiting Nurses, the Hospice program, all churches, synagogues and schools in Sudbury know they can call upon the resources of the Food Pantry to assist any needy persons of whom they are aware.
