WoodsEdge Children’s Center strives to provide a nurturing environment in an educational setting. The curriculum stresses learning through play, discovery and exploration. There is an appreciation for learning happening when children are encouraged to explore personal interests at their own pace. At WoodsEdge teachers are not the sole dispensers of knowledge, but rather they work to create an environment rich with valuable information. A balance of teacher directed and child initiated activities are planned and individual learning styles considered.
My 4 year old son began attending WoodsEdge in February 2020. Camden came from a former preschool in which he sadly had a negative Experience. Camden was very reluctant to return to a school setting and separate from mom. With the guidance, and compassion from Ms. Melissa Camden began to show signs of excitement! When I would pick him up at days end Camden would share who he played with, and some fun lessons he had learned that day. Ms. Melissa, much like all the staff at WoodsEdge are kind, compassionate and seasoned in their trade. They put their knowledge of child development as well as understanding of human nature to create a safe, healthy and fun environment for all children. Ms. Melissa took the time to learn about Camden's needs, history and medical concerns. WoodsEdge has been a blessing to our family! The teachers, as well as facility are amazing. Clean, bright and spacious!! 3 different playgrounds which Camden simply loves since we are outdoor buffs. I highly recommend WoodsEdge to parents looking for a holistic & child centered establishment. The curriculum is not only emergent but child led, teachers at WoodsEdge understand the value of play and its role in a child's learning!! This is exactly what my family wanted for Camden!! Thank you WoodsEdge for all you do- and a special thank you to Ms. Melissa.
